7.0 m Earthquake rattles Humboldt County triggering a tsunami warning

A large earthquake struck off the coast of Humboldt County on Thursday morning. Immediately following there was a tsunami warning issued along the North Coast. Residents were notified by text and telephone alert to evacuate the tsunami zones immediately. Suggesting to travel inland or to higher ground. 
According to the US Geological Survey, the quake struck around 10:44 a.m., west of Petrolia, California. Resident’s received a Tsunami Warning immediately following the quake. 
People along the Northern California coast reported feeling shaking from the 7.0 magnitude earthquake. In the neighborhood of Myrtle town located in Eureka residents reported their walls, swayng and power lines shaking as the quake rattled the area. There were reports of water splashing out of swimming pools as far away as the valley springs area. The tsunami warning was canceled by the national weather service at 12:20 pm.
